The Bouncing Souls - April 24, 2005 - Philadelphia, PA

More then 500 kids packed the basement of the First Unitarian Church on April 24th, 2005 to experience a rare small-venue performance by The Bouncing Souls. The evening started off with high-energy performances by The Ratchet and Let It Burn. After a slight technical delay, The Loved Ones hit the stage with an emotionally charged rendition of "Drastic" then blazed through a powerful set of tunes. The Explosion came next and did not disappoint - from the first note of "No Revolution" to the last bit of feedback of "Tarantulas", including their version of "Seeing Red" - they made sure everyone had the time of their lives. At 9:45 pm The Bouncing Souls climbed on stage and showed the kids why they are considered the old guard of punk, playing songs from every era of their 18 year long career. Highlights included a guest performance by David Wagenschutz on drums during "Headlights Ditch" and a crowd-pleasing rendition of "True Believers" featuring Dave Hause and Sound Man Bob on second and third guitar. After all was said and done, SSE was able to raise a little over $7,000. Thanks to The Bouncing Souls, The Explosion, The Loved Ones, Let It Burn, The Ratchets, David Wagenschutz, Nicholas, Margie, Andy Pants, Sean Agnew and R5. A very special thanks to K8 Hiltz for her impeccable sense of style and her dedication to organizations like SSE - without her none of this would have been possible. She truly is one of the great ones.
