2004 Twin Cities Race for the Cure

The Minneapolis SSE team was small but spirited. Participation was probably hindered by the Mother's Day holiday and memories of last year's cold, rainy trudge. (Some are still suffering from PTSS after the 2003 walk.) But what we lacked in attendance we made up for with elan, the best looking t-shirts in the crowd, and enough guile to weave our way through a rowdy crowd of 47,000 walkers. Christine Lehman generously fed the team (plus some late arrivals) after the walk.

It appears we've solved our weather problem. SSE Storm Control Center managed to hold off any trace of rain until almost twelve hours after we finished (at which point the skies over the Twin Cities opened up like Angel Falls). Now we're turning our attention to team size. Our goal for 2005 is to break into double digits for the SSE Minneapolis team. So mark your calendars now: we're officially renaming Mother's Day, "SSE Day [plus mothers]".
