2003 Orange County Race for the Cure
The palm trees and clouds made the 2003 Orange County Race for the Cure a memorable day for the 60-plus SSE/Thrice Team members. With a wide range of ages, and with team members coming from all over the country - some from as far away as NYC and Stockton, CA - this year's team showed great promise for future years.
The race course wound around and through most of Fashion Island, Newport Beach. Our team finished in a little over one hour and sixteen minutes - a new record for Team SSE. After the race and the requisite trip through "freebie village," we headed off to Sergeant Pepperoni's to stuff ourselves on pizza and soda.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made this a day to remember. Thanks also to Eddie, Dustin, Riley, Teppei, Nick, Jenna and Theresa; none of this would have been possible without you and your support. And last, but most definitely not least, thank you to Shadlie Kensrue for all of her tireless work and support getting this event together. She was able to do all the hands-on work in Orange County and still keep up with her studies. Take a look at these photos from the race and stay tuned for our next SSE event.
