2004 Orange County, CA Race for the Cure

As the sun burned off the early morning haze, more then 400 SSE team members breached the starting line to begin the 2004 Orange County Race For The Cure. Winding our way through the palm-lined streets of Newport Beach, our largest team to date made quite an impression. Less then an hour and a quarter later we were crossing the finish line to huge cheers from race organizers and the gathered crowd. After a quick trip to the SSE booth for a sip of water and to sign the banner, the team scattered to rest up for the second part of this epic day.

Seven hours later we found ourselves in Anaheim's Chain Reaction nightclub for a special performance by Thrice. After raffling off a ton of amazing goodies, Dustin, Riley, Eddie and Teppei took the stage by force. Blazing through 22 songs, including some they have never played before and one or two they will never play again, the audience felt they were experiencing something special.

Thanks to all who made this event one for the ages -- especially our crew of volunteers (Whitney, Tom, Jamie, Molly, Lindsay, Ashley, Theresa, Bridget, Lindy and Vanessa) who helped at check-in and kept the morning running smoothly. Thanks to Dustin, Riley, Eddie and Teppei for their dedication to this event, and to SSE in general. And lastly, thanks to all who participated in this event. You truly have made a difference.
